Big Mouth Bellamy's a wind-up merchant, not disrespectful... and we can handle him
Craig Bellamy will be wasting his time if he tries to wind up the Cardiff players in today’s Carling Cup final - they know him too well.
The Wales international, who has a reputation for mouthing off at opposition players in an attempt to unsettle them, will come face to face with his hometown club, which he left last summer after spending a season on loan from Manchester City.
Big impact: Craig Bellamy's impressed since arriving on a free transfer
Club captain Mark Hudson, who is hoping to return to the team at Wembley after a sixgame absence with a calf injury, lost the armband to Bellamy but remembers him as a positive influence on the club.
He said: ‘I was disappointed to lose the captaincy but you move on and Craig led us well. He brought lots of improvements here and changed the club for the better.
We've seen it all before: Bellamy spent last season on loan at Cardiff
‘He had an ice bath installed which aids recovery. It has helped me and everyone has benefited. He has a reputation as a big mouth but he couldn’t wind me up.
'We know what he’s like, but we don’t think he will try to wind us up because he has respect for Cardiff and we respect him.’
