Schuey to be offered new deal despite disappointing comeback

Mercedes are set to offer Michael Schumacher a new two-year deal.
The seven-time champion has endured a disappointing return to the Formula One grid since his much-heralded comeback at the beginning of 2010.

In 38 races Schumacher has failed to make it onto the podium and has finished behind team-mate Nico Rosberg in both seasons with the Silver Arrows.
The 43-year-old had been tipped to walk away from the sport when his contract expires at the end of this season.
But despite his indifferent form, a report in German newspaper Bild, claims Schumacher will be offered a new deal which will take him through to the end of the 2014 campaign.

'We will ask Michael first (if he wants to continue), before we ask other candidates,' Mercedes chief Ross Brawn is quoted as saying.
'But if we can move forward this year, then Michael will certainly be keen on it, to bring in the benefits in the future.'
Mercedes are under pressure to perform this season after finishing a disappointing fourth in last year's constructors' championship.
But many expect the German giants to offer a stiffer challenge to Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari in 2012 after turning their attentions to the W03, which was unveiled in Barcelona on Monday, midway through last season.
