Jessica Alba promises she won't reveal sex of baby
Jessica Alba says she plans on finding out whether her baby is a boy or a girl, but she'll be keeping that news to herself.
"We tell our family but we don't tell anyone outside of that," says the 29-year-old actress, who announced her pregnancy via her Facebook page last month. "I'm hiding it well," Alba tells USA TODAY's Cindy Clark. "I definitely have a bit of a bump."
It will be the second child for Alba, who arrived this morning in Washington with daughter Honor Marie in tow for the National Education Association's Read Across America Day at the Library of Congress. Alba read The Cat in the Hat to a group that included about 10 schoolchildren and Honor. The 2-year-old tot kept busy with her own little purse full of books, toys and a lollipop.
Is Honor ready to be a big sister? "We talk about it," says Alba, who is married to Honor's father, Cash Warren. "She loves babies, she loves her dollies and she likes taking care of her dollies. I think that's the closest association she can really have with a baby."
It seems motherhood has seeped into every aspect of Alba's life: she'll next star as one in Spy Kids 4, which hits theaters this summer. "It's the first time I play a mom in a movie," says Alba, who already shot the film. "It's funny, I'm pregnant (her character) in the movie and I have a baby and then I have two stepkids." She said playing a mom was "natural, it was fun."
